Ellie is a social scientist focused on sustainability and climate action, and the author or co-author of nearly two dozen publications on topics such as solar energy development, hydropower, honey bee health, and fracking. She taught writing for four years at Cornell University through the John S. Knight Institute for Writing in the Disciplines, also providing instruction for other instructors of writing and serving as a writing consultant for the Graduate Writing Service. Since 2019, she has been a freelance editor and contractor with the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). She speaks French and Hassaniya Arabic and routinely reviews manuscripts for scholarly journals.
